Position Summary:

The Supervisor of Clinical Social Work is responsible for assisting with the alignment of Clinical Social Work competencies and outcomes for the Clinical Social Workers in assigned areas. The CSW supervisor will provide the day-to-day frontline supervision of assigned Clinical Social Workers, ensuring high-level assessment and reassessment to assure that each patient has a plan of care that is focused on high quality, individualized, safe, and cost-effective plan of care. Ensures that the documentation from each Clinical Social Worker in the medical record is complete reflecting the patient's actual severity of illness.

Salary Range:

Minimum Midpoint Maximum

Annual Rate $75,800 $119,300 $162,800

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Skills to interpret and implement hospital, JCAHO, Health Department and Child Abuse Registry standards and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current Clinical Social Work License issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within a complex health care system
  • Demonstrated work experience with diverse cultures and low-income populations including homeless
  • Knowledge of the application of diverse therapeutic approaches to treating psychosocial problems
  • Highly experienced in handling crisis situations.
  • Graduation with a Master's Degree from an accredited School of Social Work or Social Welfare
  • Strong leadership skills to help establish the department's mission, policies and procedures.
  • Previous lead/supervisory CSW experience within the past two years
  • Experience in ambulatory and inpatient Service Lines
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of UCI policies and procedures
