Job Summary
Serves as a post office window clerk, weighs packages or letters, computes charges using weight scale and rate chart and delivers mail.
Responsibilities
- Distributes daily student letters, parcels, scans packages, and adds parcels to mailboxes
- Sorts incoming mail, parcels and outgoing packages utilizing postage meter machine
- Serves as window clerk weighing mail, determining costs, selling stamps, etc.
- Assists with the distribution and collection of mail from buildings and offices
- Makes necessary deliveries as assigned
- Handles a variety of payment processes (i.e. cash, credit)
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience
On-the-job training provided

Previous customer service experience

ABILITIES
Able to drive a manual shift delivery van Ability to learn assigned tasks, including the operation of standard equipment Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of USPS regulations, post office rules, and mail processing guidelines Knowledge of and adherence to university policies and procedures Knowledge of the location of campus organizations and offices
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, web tracking systems) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

Revenue Generated: Funding for this position is based upon revenue generated funds and therefore continued employment is based on availability of these funds.
