Job Purpose:
The University of Scranton will be holding a virtual weekend program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This program will incorporate training and practice in social interaction as organizational and foundational academic skills (e.g., note-taking, goal-setting).


Essential Duties:
Therapists will participate in 15-20 hours of online training. Therapists will then co-lead small groups (5-6 children) in online activities for 5-6 hours each weekend for 5 weeks. Therapists will have opportunities to plan virtual activities as well as assist with data management (e.g., graphing) throughout the program. Therapists may also engage in one-on-one coaching and feedback as well as caregiver training as needed. All job responsibilities can be met outside of regular business hours (i.e., therapists can work evenings and weekends).


Additional Skills Required:
- Therapists should possess a basic understanding of child development and reinforcement processes. They should be capable of building rapport with school-aged children and modeling appropriate social interaction. Therapists should also be capable of operating in a virtual learning (Zoom) format.


Minimum Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus at least two college-level courses in psychology, education, or applied behavior analysis

Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field

Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
- At least 6 months of experience working with school-age children in an educational or therapeutic capacity - Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, FBI Criminal Background Check (requires fingerprints), and a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance are all required prior to start the position. These background checks will be coordinated by the Human Resources Department.

Preferred Qualifications:
Training and/or clinical experience in Applied Behavior Analysis
