Description of primary duties and responsibilities::

The Department of Health, Physical & Secondary Education (HPSE) seeks a strong applicant committed to teaching excellence and student engagement to teach in the Secondary Education program at Fayetteville State University. The applicant will assist in providing daily instruction, clinical support and coordinate the Edtpa Assessment for teacher education candidates. Ideal candidates will have combined teaching experience on the undergraduate level and in the K – 12 setting.

Description of Work Continued::

The successful candidate will be expected to make the following contributions to the Health, Physical & Secondary Education Department:

Teach/ Clinical Supervise (online, hybrid, face to face) courses in the following areas: Art (K-12), Spanish (K-12) Music (K-12) History, Biology, Secondary Mathematics etc. Deliver quality based and effective educational content in daily classroom setting.

Serve as the Edtpa Coordinator for the College of Education.

Advise and supervise undergraduate students in regard to registration, Clinical Experiences and Edtpa.

Serve on Departmental and institutional committees.

Collaborate with other faculty and students to achieve the departmental vision and developing high quality programs for students and practitioners.

Serve in various other areas in the department as needed. Provide service and outreach to local education authorities and other community organizations.

Other duties will include advising undergraduate students, providing service to the department, school and university, participating in research, grant writing, and other scholarly activities.

The full-time adjunct faculty position is non-tenure track. The successful candidate will start work in August 2021.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::

Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction or a closely related field. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications::

Doctoral degree is preferred, consideration will be given to those with a master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction or a closely related field. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
