Behavioral Health Postdoctoral Fellow
The Behavioral Health Post-Doctoral Fellow performs the duties of a behavioral (mental) health clinician providing generalist clinical services to students; alcohol and other drug use assessments, training and supervisory services to mental health clinical trainees; and consultation services to faculty, staff, students and parents/families. The role is a 12-month, temporary appointment.
• Provides multiculturally informed psychological services, including psychological and substance use assessments, attention problem screenings, and individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to Miami University students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns
• Intervenes in crisis and emergency situations of a mental health nature with students, including after hours on-call responsibilities
• Consults with faculty, staff, students, families, and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students
• Initiates and responds to requests to provide psycho-educational programming to various groups within the university community
• Provides clinical supervision and training to staff, psychology interns within the SCS APA-accredited psychology internship training program, and other trainees.
• Maintains clinical records and provides clinical documentation and communication with external practitioners as necessary for ethical clinical treatment
• Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings, consultations, and professional development
• Assumes responsibility for other assignments including serving on divisional and university committees
• Completion of a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited doctoral training program and a completed APA-approved internship prior to the position start date.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in providing behavioral health services and psycho-educational programming to university students
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and work well in a team setting
