The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health and Wellness is seeking an Inventory Control Technician. The Technician oversees storerooms. and is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of the Department's fixed assets, stock control, and complete stock record system. Inventory Control Technicians handle identification and dispensation of property and are responsible for manpower planning, time utilization, and safety program management. They may serve in a functional supervisory capacity, participating in activities such as developing work standards, implementing policies and procedures, providing feedback to technicians, interviewing, hiring, and training.
The Inventory Control Technician's responsibilities include:
- Coordinate inventory control and storage.
- Track all l inventory in Medicat - Keep up par levels, restock all point of care locations, and order inventory to keep up with needs..
- Prepare and issue all purchase requisitions and purchase orders necessary to support maintenance and housekeeping operations.
- Supervise storeroom staff.
- Provide training to staff members regarding Department standards, procedures, techniques, and expectations, including all aspects of job requirements and safety.
- Prepare periodic analyses of stock utilization trends and expenses.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with inventory tracking in a health care setting is highly preferred.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
