The Department of Radiology seeks a Program Manager who will be responsible for the ongoing operations of the Division of Integrative Biomedical Imaging Informatics at Stanford (IBIIS) in the Department of Radiology. The Program Manager will be the administrative leader in: Strategic Planning (overseeing and facilitating activities required to maintain and grow programs, implementing policies and procedures, analyzing trends and key metrics for the programs progress, acting as liaison between directors and internal/external program contributors, recruiting and training staff and program trainees); Financial and Grant Management (grant/contract administration, budget development/oversight, procurement, reporting, monitoring and tracking expenditures, forecasting, assisting with grant preparation and submission; acting as liaison between program and Finance and Administration as well as external funding agencies, ensuring compliance); and Outreach and Event Planning (developing outreach strategies that may include relationship development, communications, and compliance, coordinating and supervising logistics for all program events including seminars, site reviews, courses, workshops, retreats, and symposia).

The Integrative Biomedical Imaging Informatics at Stanford (IBIIS) Division of the Department of Radiology aims to gain new knowledge from imaging examinations by integrating and analyzing them with related clinical and molecular data. The program aims to achieve this goal by exploring the full spectrum of information-intensive activities in imaging (e.g., image management, storage, retrieval, processing, analysis, understanding, visualization, navigation, interpretation, reporting, and communications) and in non-imaging domains (e.g., pathology, molecular and genetic markers, family history, prior medical reports, and clinical outcomes).

The Program Manager will partner with the program directors to perform the following duties:

  • Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program.
  • Act as key contact. Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
  • Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.
  • Represent the program or function within the department, unit or school. May also represent the program or function to external constituencies.
  • Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include communications, events, training, and/or conferences. May participate in development of budgets or oversee budgets and monitor and approve expenditures.
  • May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 7 years of relevant experience in addition to a Master's degree in Business Administration or related field of study OR a combination of education and work experience that demonstrates analytical skills, problem solving, initiative, judgment, decision-making, and writing ability.
  • Experience with managing NIH training grant programs.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Experience with eSubmit, grants.gov and FastLane.
  • Experience working with Stanford Research Management Groups (RMG), Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and APLAC.
  • Experience with Stanford's administrative systems, including Oracle Financial and OBI.
  • Experience working in a Department in the Stanford School of Medicine.
  • Working knowledge of applicable University procedures and practices.
  • Ability to successfully manage interdisciplinary educational programs spanning multiple departments and multiple schools within the university setting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and database systems development and implementation, strongly desired.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
