Job Details

Two-Year Visiting position as assistant professor of education with the possibility of conversion to tenure-track, Wells College, Aurora, NY beginning August 16, 2021. We seek a colleague who can prepare students to teach in the field of special education, supervise clinical field placements and student teaching, teach a variety of education methods courses, and who has a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate or ABD in special education or related field from a nationally and/or regionally accredited institution or university.  Successful candidates must have at least three years of successful experience working in K-12 classrooms with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary teaching experience working with teacher preparation programs. Experience supervising students in special education field experiences and student teaching placements. Experience with national program reviews or national accreditation agencies such as the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).  Experience with the edTPA and program assessment. Knowledge or experience with NYS standards of learning. Expertise in educational technology, multicultural education, or culturally relevant pedagogy. 

Essential Job Functions: Teach a 3/3 load in person, collect and report course data, be available to students during office hours, utilize and maintain a learning management system (Moodle) for all courses, submit course materials and maintain up-to-date records with the Registrar
