The Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (FALD) exists to support the development of our faculty members and to provide resources to assure their academic success. Position Description:


This position serves as primary assistant to senior level executives in the Office of the Dean/CEO and supports the day-to-day operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development. This position will be the executive assistant to the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, Associate Chair for Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development, Executive Associate Dean for Academic Programs, and Assistant Director for Faculty Affairs. Duties will include:
- Providing administrative, communication, clerical, travel, and financial support;
- Communicating, managing and following up with other senior executives regarding numerous projects, meeting, and data requests;
- Researching and composing a variety of correspondence, memoranda and reports using office support software packages;
- Providing administrative support to various programmatic initiatives, including faculty orientation, the School of Medicine’s Well-Being Committee, coaching programs, faculty leadership initiative and new chair programs;
- Administering faculty affairs procedures including processing of chair and center director appointments, reappointments, and extensions, five-year reviews, annual faculty reviews, chair searches, distinguished professorships and appointments.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Customer focus and outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees. Ability to manage complex events and multi-task. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access). Creative problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Qualtrics and WordPress. Experience working in an academic medical center or higher education institution is preferred. Ability and willingness to work autonomously.
