Position Summary:The Senior Implementation Specialist serves as a project leader on funded research project(s) at the National Implementation Research Network at the Frank Porter Graham (FPG) Child Development Institute at UNC-Chapel Hill. This position is for individuals who have demonstrated significant professional contributions in implementation (or technical assistance) in education or other human services. The Senior Implementation Specialist delivers a range of implementation supports to support effective implementation and scaling of evidence-based programs and innovations, engages in implementation research, and provides leadership on project(s). The individual typically is directing projects or important components of large-scale projects, has shared knowledge with others through a variety of means, and has obtained funding for implementation (or technical assistance) activities. The individual is an emerging leader in the field at a national level as evidenced by sustained productivity and functional networks of colleagues. The Senior Implementation Specialist is expected to (1) meet the education and experience qualifications described below, (2) achieve excellence in implementation (or technical assistance), (3) provide public and professional service, and (4) be able to travel extensively.
Educational Requirements:Ph.D. in Early Childhood, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health or related disciplines with five years of relevant experience. Or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with ten years of relevant experience.
Qualifications and Experience:At least five years of experience related to using implementation science and active implementation frameworks in education or other human services. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technical assistance projects, to write proposals that have been successfully funded, and provide public and professional service. Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to get along well with others; evidence of teamwork and collaboration.
