Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

CYFCP builds the capacity of families, service providers, researchers, teachers, and communities to promote the well-being of children and youth. In partnership with colleagues from across the university and the community, the center carries out basic, applied, and action research; translates research into effective programs and practice; infuses community perspectives into university research and teaching; facilitates strategic problem-solving processes; and promotes programs, practices, and policies that yield positive outcomes for children and their families.

Position Summary:

Project Data Collector for the Tiered Care Coordination Project. This position is part of an evaluation team working on a project contract awarded by the State Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services to the Center for Youth, Family and Community Partnerships (CYFCP). The position is to assist in researching the value of behavioral health services provided to families in the juvenile justice and social services systems.
Work will be primarily in the Pitt County area. All travel will be from a base in that area and travel to that area from other counties will not be reimbursed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social science, psychology, social work, or other human services field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

We prefer the individual hired for this position has had experience with child serving
systems (juvenile justice, social services, mental health and substance use) as a care giver to a child who needed services. This includes someone who meets criteria as a Family Partner.
Position requires flexibility in personal schedule to allow meeting with youth and families based on their availability. Occasional meetings may occur during evening and weekend hours. Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to allow access to offsite meetings with families. Proficiency with basic computer applications, i.e., navigation using internet links and data entry skills for minimal entry of data.

Alternate Option If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training &
experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.
