Provide an educational program for current and future public health professionals responsive to meeting needs in a changing environment, including skills to work in rural and disadvantaged communities.
Educate individuals to apply a collaborative approach of evidence-based prevention to address public health issues and manage programs in various settings.
Increase the quality and quantity of funded public health-related research, including translational research projects that address established regional priorities.

Our vision is to be a national model for engaging with communities to address regional needs and rural health disparities.

Job Duties :

The work involves receiving emails from interested individuals, screening them for eligibility and then, for eligible individuals, candidate would complete informed consent, and study measures on each person. Study visits are early in the morning because individuals come into the lab fasting. So between 7am and 11am. After data are collected on paper forms, the data would be entered into Redcap. We hope to begin recruitment in June 2021 and continue on. We have recruitment goals of 25 people per month, approximately 8-10 at each of three sites (Baylor College of Medicine, University of Minnesota, and ECU). Selected candidate would be helping on the ECU part. People in the study have to drink juice and have their skin carotenoids measured and other assessments completed at baseline, 3- and 6-weeks. This is mostly onsite work – not telework, since we have to recruit/enroll / take measures on people, and because we are dealing with personal information, study records cannot be taken home.
