Information Technology Business Analyst Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22532512 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $64,400 - $93,200 Position Information The Information Technology Business Analyst will report to the Senior Program Manager, Infrastructure and Applications within the Portfolio Management Office of ITS and is responsible for analysis and definition of IT work requests. The Information Technology Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business units. This team member must demonstrate good judgment in selecting tools, methods, and techniques working with the business and IT to identify solutions. Working with the business, they will apply business analysis techniques to define the business problem, gather business requirements, formulate appropriate process and IT solutions, and deliver recommendations for improvements. They will work with business partners to confirm scope and understanding of work priorities. The Information Technology Business Analyst will help formulate work plans and coordinate efforts on small to medium size projects. This team member will develop and foster positive working relationships between ITS and business units. This position will be 100% remote with the possibility of coming on campus to work closely with ITS customers. Please note the maximum annual salary budgeted for this position is $78,360. Minimum Requirements Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.
Broad knowledge relating to software design.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Effective problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.
Broad IT domain experience in three or more of the following IT areas: Applications Development, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Vendor Management, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, and Maintenance & Support.
Knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of the impacts of the initiatives.
Thorough knowledge of related areas of IT.
Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of service operations within a higher education environment.
