The Faculty Support Department provides comprehensive administrative services to UCI Law faculty for their teaching, scholarship, and service activities. The Faculty Support Team offers administrative assistance to multiple law professors, adjuncts, visitors, and lecturers, and assumes a broad range of administrative responsibilities, including direct support to law faculty, course management, word processing, research, financial administration, department operations, and event coordination. Members of the Faculty Support Department are expected to conduct research and provide analyses and solutions for administrative and operational problems and apply extensive knowledge of School of Law and University administrative policies and procedures.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean & Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent is responsible for the direct management and supervision of the School of Law's faculty support services. The Faculty Support Manager analyzes workflow, organizes, and assigns work within the faculty support unit, and works collaboratively with academic and non-academic staff providing instructional support in other units. The manager recommends policies and procedures to improve service, acts as the point of contact for the faculty support team, oversees the training for new and current faculty assistants in all areas of administrative support, and provides comprehensive administrative, instructional, and scholarship support for assigned faculty.

Compensation Range:

Annually: $70,000.00 - $77,000.00

Required: Minimum 5-7 years of experience required in administrative and management roles with increasing responsibility, preferably in an academic environment. Preferred: 3-5 years of experience supervising, leading, and building a team, including possessing the ability to motivate and inspire that team.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules, and regulations.

Ability to display discretion and diplomacy while handling extremely sensitive and/or confidential matters.

Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.

Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, in high-pressure situations, and with changing priorities.

Ability to quickly pick-up new projects and responsibilities when assigned.

Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.

Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions.

Ability to manage people and projects on a defined timeline.

Proven analytical, strong decision-making skills. and problem-solving skills.

Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

Proven ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to follow complex verbal instructions.

Special Conditions Required:

Campus - University setting May require some evening and weekend coverage.
