Job Summary

Deliver and set-up of audio/visual equipment using UWG vehicle. Onsite set-up and training of equipment for usage by all UWG departments. Equipment may vary from extension cord to LCD projectors, screens, and laptops. Routine and preventative maintenance of all A/V equipment, proper storage and inventory of all equipment, test and verify status of A/V equipment before the order leaves and upon return of equipment.
Assist customers at the front desk, answer all phone calls coming into the department phone, take messages for staff, and enter all graphic services & equipment request orders into Footprints 12. Have a working knowledge of audio/ visual equipment. Calculate end of month data entries for all equipment checkouts. Provide customer service to all visitors.

Responsibilities

The student receptionist will provide a variety of clerical duties in the Center such as effective and efficient customer service assistance to students, faculty, staff, and guests. Services as receptionist under the direction of the department manager and communicate check-in needs to the manager. Uses good judgment and initiative in adapting work procedures to new situations as required.

Prepping and Testing equipment in the office for Audio/Visual equipment for checkout request, deliveries, and pickups of the equipment as well as training and professional development and Inventory, cleaning of workspace, helping with office duties like answering phone and checking computer for equipment request.

Answering and directing phone calls, taking and distributing messages, handling inquiries and work requests. Other duties may also include but not limited to data entry and work related errands.

Required Qualifications

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Dependability and able to work scheduled hours set by management.
Good customer service skills
Ability to follow directions
Experience with Microsoft Office products, proficient use of email and internet required.
Dependable and prompt
Good customer service
Good telephone etiquette
Available to work open time slots
Ability to follow directions written and oral

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

Must be Federal Work Study eligible.

Superior customer service skills, positive and friendly attitude. Willingness to work cooperatively with others. Ability to handle confidential information with care and ability to prioritize duties. Basic computer skills and knowledge, attentiveness to details, and good organizational skills and initiatives. Assist students with scheduling appointments and provide information on other academic support programs offered for student success.
Be able to lift and carry mail. Take stairs and non-stop work for two-plus hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Having knowledge of Audio/ Visual equipment and basic computer skills (i.e. MS Office or Mac Applications)
Experience with using small hand tools, and working on a ladder
