Job Title:

Director of Undergraduate Outreach and Communication Systems

Job Description:

Sarah Lawrence College, a highly selective, coeducational liberal arts college with a history of innovative progressive education, seeks an experienced admissions professional for the position of Director of Undergraduate Outreach and Communication Systems. This is an inaugural position, and will report directly to the Vice President for Enrollment, working closely with the rest of the senior enrollment team (Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Enrollment Systems and Operations, and Director of Graduate Admissions). The position is intended to be based primarily on SLC’s campus, 30 minutes north from Manhattan’s Grand Central Station via commuter train in southern Westchester County; however, given that many College employees are working remotely at this time, this position would likely commence in a primarily remote work arrangement and would begin more regular campus work in the coming months.

Essential Duties Summary:

This position will require a strong background not only in undergraduate recruiting, but also experience in the hands-on work of managing the office’s CRM and enrollment database (Technolutions’ Slate) to maximize the efficiency of the admissions communications streams and end user portals (including the application portal, but also developing vibrant prospective student portals, as well as access points for communicating and partnering with high schools and alumni). To support the work of this position, there is a highly effective and collaborative team in place that generates creative content and student profiles/narratives about the College, both in the admissions office as well as within the College’s Marketing and Communications office. This position will be the lead in coordinating multiple communication streams for the office as well as having a significant role in developing and maintaining functionality in Slate.
The successful candidate will have experience in both admissions recruiting as well as in enrollment systems, and will have strong project management skills. Prior experience with Slate is highly preferred. This individual will also be energized by problem solving, by creative solutions, by industry-leading innovation, and even by taking risks.

Required Qualifications:

Additional preferred qualifications include:

Experience in CSS, HTML, Java, liquid markup, responsive web code, etc
Demonstrated experience in managing strong creative work from beginning to completion
Experience with SQL (or at least comfort with reviewing pre-existing SQL for use/adaptation)

Additional required qualifications include:

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (10% at most)
