Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

This Professional Aide position will write for the Office of Marketing and Communications in the College of Veterinary Medicine and will provide administrative, organizational, editing, and research support for a special historical project for the College. This is a three-month temporary position with the possibility for an extension.

Desired Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, History, or Professional Writing is required. A qualified candidate must have at least two years of professional writing/project management experience and must be a proficient, deadline-oriented writer. Must be able to adapt his/her writing style to fit genre and multiple audiences, and must possess proficient research abilities to develop understanding of complex subject matter (medicine, research, and science). In addition, candidates must have the ability to interview subjects and generate creative and frequent stories for various communications. Candidates also should have experience and/or knowledge of producing web and social media content, solid organizational and project management skills, and the ability to conduct historical research.
