Position Summary
The Educational Program Coordinator for SCS will develop, plan, coordinate and manage medical education events, assist with event budgets and monitor expenses, reserve facilities, catering, and any materials required for an event, workshop or lab, recruit speakers, schedule travel, monitor honorariums, contracts and agreements in order to ensure events, workshops and labs requirements are met. This position will coordinate, evaluate and prepare reports on event activities, act as liaison between vendors and users in order to obtain requested event materials and supervise and train student employees and/or temporary employees for events. This position requires that applicants have a valid vehicle license and the ability to travel to off campus locations.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsThe job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Theory and Methodology and/or a specialization in the designated area of expertise; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web- based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
