Position Title:Associate Director Operations
Position Summary:The Associate Director serves as an executive team member in Student Unions & Engagement (SUE) and is responsible for the daily operational needs of two student unions on campus – Sadler Center and Campus Center.
The incumbent oversees many of the event functions for the department across venues and locations throughout campus including room setup/strike, Audiovisual/technology, and on-site customer service and interaction. The position serves on specialized teams focused on both the event experience and development and care of student staff. The Associate Director leads work order entry for SUE and tenants in our spaces including relationship building, proactive and follow-up communication, and basic project oversight with Facilities Management. Additional responsibilities include leading departmental assessment planning and creation and implementation of safety and security plans and protocols.
The incumbent will be responsible for hiring/training/supervising in the development of student staff including assembling a high-functioning Student Building Manager program. As a member of the SUE Executive Team, the incumbent will assist in overall budget development and management, the creation of intentional environments, best hiring practices, supporting team morale, and other functions in support of the department.
Required Qualifications:•Master’s Degree in higher education, college student personnel, or a related field.
•Several years of experience supervising full-time staff.
•Demonstrated experience with Organizational Leadership practices
•Track record of exceptional customer service with multiple, diverse individuals, and constituent groups
•Demonstrates excellence in written and oral communication.
•Successful track record working independently as well as in a team environment.
•Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution.
•Individual must demonstrate an openness to thoughts and ideas of others.
•Significant experience in student unions/activities.
•Experience with facilities management in higher education.
•Experience leading A/V programs and/or knowledge of standard and emerging Audiovisual and Technological capabilities.
•Knowledge of assessment, evaluation, and research, data collection and use, and research ethics.
•Knowledge of basic emergency management protocols and continuity of operations planning.
•Demonstrated skill and experience in computer programs (Microsoft Word, EMS Scheduling Software, Room Viewer, Excel, & PowerPoint).
Up to $60,000 Commensurate with Experience
