Associate Director of MaintenancePosition Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership of the trades facilities maintenance operation; for complying with all legal and regulatory requirements affecting maintenance and safety; and for ensuring optimum efficiency and effectiveness in the use of workforce resources to achieve the university’s goals and objectives.Required Qualifications:
Associates or higher degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, facilities management or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory experience of building trades persons.
Knowledge of electronic work management software.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and customer groups, including employees with a wide array of occupation and educational backgrounds.
Ability to deal effectively with college faculty, students, staff, architects/engineers, vendors, and contractors.
Demonstrated ability to formulate operating budgets and project cost estimates.
Ability to effectively facilitate and lead meetings and work groups.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with one or more building trades.
Progressively responsible positions in public works or facilities management organizations in a public sector or higher education environment.
Certified Facilities Manager.
Knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and procedures related to design and construction in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Facilities project management experience is preferred.Advertised Pay Range:
