Overview
The Empirical Studies of Conflict Project (ESOC) at the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance (JRCPPF), and the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) at Princeton University seek outstanding candidates for a research specialist position in the area of development finance starting as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
The research specialist will play a key role in supporting a new Research Community at Princeton focusing on development finance in fragile and conflict-affected states. The main objective will be collaborating with ESOC faculty on the development of a publicly available development finance dataset on development finance in fragile states. The position provides an excellent opportunity for collaboration with Princeton faculty, graduate and undergraduate students.
Qualifications
- BA or more advanced degree, preferably in economics, a social science, or statistics, or equivalent work experience/skills for humanities majors
- Ability to rapidly learn Python, R, or STATA, and ArcGIS software or equivalent
- Evidence of ability to solve practical research problems
- Ability to work independently and to adjust to rapidly changing needs of researchers
