Advertised Job Summary:To provide support services to the United States Department of Justice. The incumbent serves as the principal advisor and subject matter expert to EOUSA/USAOs on the administration and training program design, development and evaluation in their assigned area(s) of expertise. The incumbent carries out complex work assignments which support a wide variety of courses and conferences delivered in both classroom and distance learning settings.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):Master’s degree and 1 year related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of procurement guidelines, Federal Travel Regulations, and various Office of Personnel Management guidelines to provide information regarding payment of contractors and obligations of travelers, as well as to develop courses in related support areas such as supervision, management, and financial management. General knowledge of protocol in contacts with senior officials, to include federal judges, senior department officials, and United States Attorneys. Ability to apply this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Mastery of adult learning theory and techniques, curriculum development, instructional design, and learning assessment tools, and the ability to generate, develop, and apply current and new theories and techniques to the training needs of personnel. Mastery of qualitative and quantitative principles and techniques to evaluate information, devise solutions to training problems, formulate options, recommend improvements to training curricula and training processes, establish program metrics, and develop baselines for future assessments. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and tact and skill in persuading faculty and experts to comply with procedural requirements. Well-rounded knowledge of available technology to assist students using IT applications, and recommend programs and program segments for distance learning. Knowledge of legal and related reference sources in agency manuals, reference systems, directives, issuance’s, precedent decisions, court decisions, and commercial legal publications to ensure highest level of support
