Job Summary: The eLearning and LMS Administrator is responsible for the administration of one or more online learning management system(s) to include record-keeping, reporting, training and troubleshooting. The incumbent will also utilize creative and technical skills in the designing and implementing of effective eLearning solutions including, but, not limited to online courses, simulations, podcasts, webcasts and mobile media content which have the power to engage and inform a diverse audience.

Additional Department Summary: The eLearning & LMS Administrator is responsible for the administration of the campus-wide learning management system, containing both professional development and mandatory compliance training content. Serves as primary administrator of LMS and Data Steward for training supported by HR Learning and Development and compliance training partners. Establishes guidelines and protocols for system administration and course development, as well as plans and oversees system upgrades, training assignments, and reports. Supports marketing efforts in coordination with HR Learning & Development to promote instructor-led, eLearning, and webinar content. Coordinates timeline and communication plans for eLearning and mandatory compliance training and resources to a diverse audience of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and university guests. Supports the development of custom eLearning content, learning plans, and digital resources for HR Learning & Development, CERA, and other campus partners.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of training, instructional technology, instructional design, system administration, or database administration experience; OR Master’s degree and some training, instructional technology, instructional design, system administration, or database administration experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, customer-service and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills with emphasis on being conscientious and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy. Strong trouble-shooting skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a team environment to meet deadlines. Demonstrative ability to work with diverse clientele and translate their learning needs; and to generate and apply new or unique ideas or solutions. Strong computer skills to include MS office suite, database integration knowledge, intermediate PC and Mac troubleshooting as it relates to online learning platforms, and software used to create eLearning courses.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree in educational technology, instructional technology, instructional design, information systems, or related field and at least 3-5 years’ experience with database management. Experience with eLearning authoring tools and interactive learning platforms preferred, with examples including Articulate and Captivate, along with web development tools such as WordPress, HTML5, and CSS+; graphic design and video editing software such as Camtasia, Premiere and Photoshop. Experience administering eLearning in a higher education environment preferred.
