The Temple Lung Health Cohort Study team is seeking a part-time (20 hrs/wk) Research Associate for a 1-year position. The Research Associate will be responsible for study recruitment, data collection and management activities as directed by the research project manager and principal investigator. The study is funded by the CHEST Foundation Research Grant in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and being run by Investigators from the Temple Lung Center at Temple Hospital and Jeanes Hospital. The purpose of this study is to examine sleep health, nicotine metabolism, and airway inflammation mechanisms for lung function in Black and White adults.

Responsibilities include: Conducting study data collection and recruitment at the Jeanes Hospital clinical site; assisting the project manager with study file and document maintenance; completing data entry and quality assurance; conducting study appointment reminder calls; attending regular study meetings; obtaining written informed consent; conducting data collection; assuring compliance with Institutional Review Board requirements. Occasional travel to Temple University Hospital may be necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, health services research, public health or related field, and at least one year of related human subjects research experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

    Strong organizational and time management skillsStrong eDC data entry skills.Current human subjects’ certification (CITI training)Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with students, faculty, staff, and program participants.Ability to operate all standard office equipment/software including MS Office.Demonstrated proficiency with REDCap
  • Ability to follow IRB and study guidelines according to specific directives
This is a grant-funded position.
