Position Description:
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services is seeking a Technical Lead with an exceptional commitment to service excellence to join the team. As the Technical Lead, you will be an integral member of the Learning Management System program team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to enable a world-class, integrated teaching and learning experience for faculty and students that sets the standard for teaching excellence, academic achievement, and inclusivity.

The Technical Lead manages the Technical workstream and day-to-day operations of the Canvas LMS platform. This person is an integral member of the Program Leadership team, alongside the Canvas T&L Lead, LMS Product Manager, Canvas Specialist, and Change Management Lead. As the Technical Lead, this person oversees the LMS Administrator, LMS Integration Manager, and Reporting Manager. The Technical Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the technical end-to-end teaching & learning requirements are met. This individual requires a detailed skill set and will be involved from academic requirements inception to ongoing post-implementation support. This role is responsible for the LMS platform development, enabling reporting on outcomes and ensuring that the platform is fully compliant.

Activities include: Oversee LMS platform integrations and functionality development; serve as the escalation point for LMS-related technical incidents; coordinate alignment between LMS Administration, data, and integration teams; liaise with key faculty, staff, and other academic leadership on any platform changes and improvements; oversee the advanced report development for Canvas to meet university requirement; review and approve regular reports on the effectiveness of course activity; regularly review systems best practices and implement effective change to improve LMS.
