Associate’s degree in Education or Business and experience with non-profit organizations.Duties and Responsibilities:
•Initiate and participate in planning sessions for Adult and Children’s Programming.
●Assist with planning of all in-person and virtual outreach events and seasonal walks.
●Maintain a current calendar of programming.
•Maintain a spreadsheet of adult programs schedule, participant numbers, and financial data.
•Conduct evaluations of programs and use results to guide future planning.
Teaching, Contracting and Scheduling Instructors
●Teach classes for Adults and/or Children when appropriate, according to education and skills.
●Lead the continued transition of classes from traditional in-person instruction to online classes, utilizing Zoom, Padlet, Google Meet, and other applicable software.
●Recruit, initiate contracts and maintain positive relationships with instructors.
●Communicate with instructors to schedule courses.
●Arrange payment for instructors.
Registrations, Record Keeping
●Maintain a database of instructors, contractual payments, and courses taught/willing to teach.
●Develop online U-Store and Touchnet payment listings for all classes.
●Manage registrations by timely email (and phone, as needed) communications.
●Maintain a spreadsheet of programs, participant numbers, and income/expenses.
●Print rosters & evaluations for instructors.
●Send confirmation/details email to all participants, instructor, (cc supervisor) of each course.
●Prepare classrooms, including virtual classrooms, for courses (or arrange for other staff to do so).
●Keep an accurate record of each student’s completion of classes applicable to the Certificate of Native Plant Studies.
●Communicate with participants (and potential participants), instructors, and garden staff by timely and professional emails to announce new courses and special events, and handle registrations & instructor scheduling.
●Communicate with the office manager to make sure instructors are paid.
●Post and maintain course descriptions on Google Drive, and course schedules on Google Calendar. Share this information with the Marketing Manager.
●Develop class and workshop flyers.
Onsite Greenhouse & Other duties
Share in duties of customer service when working in the headhouse: Interacting with visitors and answering the phone.
●Participate in Plant Sales as needed.
●Assist with set up/tear down of all outreach events and seasonal walks.
●Work outreach events and seasonal walks.
●Other duties as assigned.
●Ability to use a credit card machine and cash register.
●Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
