Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Admissions Recruiter/Counselor is responsible for focusing on and promoting The WSU System, focusing on WSU Pullman and providing support to the WSU Everett campus. The position is responsible for promoting undergraduate programs by developing, expanding, and strengthening key relationships with leaders in education and communities in assigned area. Will establish and maintain strong working relationships with high school and community college counselors, teachers, and other school administrators to increase prospective student inquiries and enrollment.

Additional duties include: event attendance, represent the university at community events in addition to recruitment events, represent the department on various committees and attend training meetings and development opportunities. This position must be available to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

Position is remote (regionally based) with required scheduled hours at the WSU Everett campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting information to groups.

  • Experience with MS Office and email.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid, unrestricted driver's license.

  • Willingness to travel, work some weekends and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience working in education or with high school and/or college students. Knowledge of student recruitment and college admissions.

  • Knowledge of admissions procedures, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships and a broad base of knowledge regarding Washington State University.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, prospect software (CRM) and enterprise systems. Broad working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution.
