Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Human Resource Analyst is committed to providing effective, high quality human resource support to the University community. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in effecting, executing, and discharging personnel functions. Duties performed in the following functional areas; recruitment and hiring, leave administration, health benefits information, training and development, employee relations, classification and compensation.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related area and two (2) years of demonstrated knowledge of general human resource practices. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies and procedures.

Demonstrated experience interacting with large groups and individuals at all work levels.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.

A record showing commitment to customer service and the application of appropriate flexibility in response to issues and opposing points of view is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience promoting equity and diversity in a professional work setting

Experience in: recruitment, classification, compensation, fair labor standards act and labor relations.

Knowledge of or experience with civil service rules.

Professional certification from a recognized human resource/personnel association.

Human resource experience in a higher education setting.
