Required Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field may be substituted for experience.
OR
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of three years' experience performing secretarial/clerical assistant duties in an office setting.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, exercise sound judgement, make responsible decisions and work with a diverse groups of constituents
Preferred Qualifications Extensive customer service experience/training. Previous cashier, office and dental practice experience. Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. Conversant in Spanish is a plus.Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to:
    Must adhere to DCG's high customer service standards by greeting each patient with a friendly and welcome reception; Responsible for assisting in checking-in patients as they arrive for appointments including updating of patient information, insurance verification, validation of parking, receiving/posting payments from patients and/or consulting with patient of various payment optionsResponsible for assisting in answering incoming general calls in a considerate and proficient manner to provide quality customer service; This could be, but is not limited to, handling inquiries regarding patient accounts, taking payments, redirecting calls to the appropriate person/department as determined by the nature of the callReview clinic schedules in advance and contact patients too update demographic information and inform them of financial requirements of upcoming appointmentsAssist patients in accessing accounts to determine charges as well as account balances; Assist residents, faculty, staff and patients with appropriate account information; Ensure that any changes, discrepancies or corrections regarding an account are directed to the appropriate areas of responsibilityBalance their bank by reconciliation of payments posted for each business dayPerform all other related duties/tasks as assigned
