Job Summary Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for Part-time Teacher’s Assistant for the Thomaston Upward Bound 6-week Summer Enrichment Program. Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves over 3000 commuting students on its beautifully landscaped campus which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Thomaston Upward Bound will host a Virtual Summer Enrichment Program.


Teacher’s Assistants (TA) are responsible for the well-being of Upward Bound (UB) students and supporting UB instructors. Counseling, academic tutoring, and developing interactive activities are all facets of this responsibility. TA are expected to keep close contact with the students in all aspects of community life. The TA will report to the Director of Thomaston Upward Bound.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma required Associates and Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to work with diverse and at risk students.

Proposed Salary

Stipend for Summer Enrichment Program.
