Position Summary:

A-State invites applications for qualified, experienced adjunct teaching faculty. Adjunct Instructors are hired to teach on a per course basis.

Part-time contract instructors are actively involved in programs offered by Global Initiatives. This contract position is for a remote game development instructor for online technology classes. The position requires teaching approximately 4-8 hours per week for 7 weeks of technology classes including one or more of the following:

• Introduction to Advanced level courses in Android Application Development and/or IOS Application Development

The online, synchronous/asynchronous classes, plus related duties will total a minimum of 32 hours for the term of the contract. Contracts will be assigned per class, as needed, based on enrollment

Duties & Responsibilities:

    Review and familiarize yourself with course content before the course start dateTeach (4-8) hours per week live (synchronous) online in the technology program through Zoom platformAdvise and assist students on how to be successful in the courseAsses student work and provide detailed feedback in a timely mannerSubmit syllabi for classes taught and recommendation for certificate award; maintain attendance and class record of student workProvide feedback for improving the programProvide flexible schedule for online synchronous/asynchronous morning, day, evening, or Saturday classes depending on client needsStay updated on innovations and changes within their course fieldRespond to student emails and requests within 24-48 hoursShare all course resources via class upload folder (Dropbox)Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of methods and techniques to enhance the acquisition of programming and/or leadership skills
• Knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices
• Knowledge of methods and techniques including project-based learning to demonstrate student understanding of class information
• Experience adapting content to better meet students’ needs
• Knowledge of and experience in developing, administering, and assessing student learning
• Strong online synchronous classroom organizational and planning skills, ability to give clear, concise directions and explanations
• Ability to effectively use technology to enhance instruction
• Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong academic and industry preparation: Master’s degree in related field
• A minimum of two (2) years online teaching experience
• Familiarity with Zoom preferred
• High level of English proficiency
