Job Summary/Description:

The tenure-track Assistant Professor role requires candidates to teach courses both face-to-face and online, conduct research in areas of their expertise or interest, advise students, and participate in university service through committees and other avenues. Performance of job in San Angelo is required.

Typical Duties/Job Duties:

Teach a 12-hour course load equivalent per semester of undergraduate and graduate psychology classes. Participate in student advising. Develop a student-centered research program. Provide department and university service as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required: Extensive knowledge in social psychology, broadly-defined. Have the necessary skills, expertise, and interest in university teaching and conducting research in social psychology broadly defined. Area(s) of specific expertise within social psychology are not specified. Desirable: Experience in the delivery of online education. Experience in managing programmatic research.

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD degree in Social Psychology or closely-related field in psychology. ABD candidates are acceptable provided the PhD degree can be reasonably obtained within the first 12 months after hire date.
