Faculty & Program Coordinator of Respiratory Care; Anderson College of Nursing & Health Professions
The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Respiratory Therapy in the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions. This position will be responsible for coordinating and developing a new respiratory therapy program in accordance with the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care (CoARC) Standards. Applicants with a Ph.D. will be eligible for the tenure-track, Assistant/Associate professor and program coordinator appointment and applicants with a master's degree will be eligible for non-tenure-track lecturer and program coordinator appointment.
Essential duties will include researching and writing policies, developing courses, and teaching a variety of respiratory therapy courses including didactic and clinical. Additional responsibilities will include advising program students; maintaining office hours; serving on committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participating in appropriate professional development activities; participating in scholarly activities and departmental/individual research; participating in service to the university and the community; and instructing and assisting in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methods, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
Minimum qualifications include: Master's degree in respiratory care or a related field is required; Ph.D. in respiratory care or a related field is preferred; Two years of teaching experience in an accredited Respiratory Care program is required; Two years of clinical experience as a respiratory therapist is required; Current RRT credential by the NBRC is required; and currently licensed, or eligible for licensure in the State of Alabama in Respiratory Therapy is required.
