Job Description:

TCS Education System is currently seeking a Learning Experience Design Intern for the Instructional Design department.

The Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Associate Director Learning Experience Designer. Responsibilities may include conducting literature reviews, developing research proposals, assisting with some instructional design projects including, but not limited to, reviewing, and editing master courses for quality and accessibility, reviewing, and revising templates and manuals. The Intern may also be asked to work with other interns on projects related to learning experience design, graphic design, and user-experience design. The ideal intern will have a magnificent work ethic, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.

The intern will have an opportunity to contribute to improving how we design learning experiences and learn about professional practices and emerging trends in the fields of instructional design, learning experience design, and user experience design. S/he will utilize project manager skills to create processes and procedures necessary for a smooth design and delivery process.

The Internship will be 3-6 months in duration. The intern(s) will be expected to work 20 hours per week.


Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review course content for accessibility and usability.

  • Develop or revise instructional materials related to web accessibility and usability.

  • Update content in Canvas (learning management system), e.g., revising existing content, uploading revised syllabus, revising dead hyperlinks, and assessing course content for digital accessibility.

  • Research and assemble resources and templates related to effective learning, teaching, or web content design.

  • Conduct literature reviews, data collection and analyses for user experience.

  • Conduct research on user-experience and propose innovative ideas and solutions for improving end-user learning experience.

  • Create visual products, e.g., design badge graphics, icons, and infographics, using graphic design skills.

Position Requirements:
  • Working knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail in all deliverables and communications.

  • Research, analyze, and synthesize information/data and provide recommendations for designing learning solutions.

  • Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures.

  • Strong comprehension and creative visualization skills.

    Strong self-motivation and self-management.

  • Ability to constructively identify and discuss potential project challenges (e.g., scope change, and changes with deadlines).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Working knowledge and experience with web design (front end).

  • Strong visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program and in good academic standing.

  • One to two years’ experience using course development software or course learning management system.

  • Ability to develop research proposals, e.g., familiarity with common research designs.

  • Effective and appropriate written and verbal communication skills in a business environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • A background in educational psychology and technology, instructional design, or user-experience design, learning experience design might be helpful.

  • User experience design, visual design, storyboarding, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

  • Adobe Suite Creative Suite Skills.

  • Project management.

  • Problem Solving.
