Position Highlights:

The Eller College of Management is seeking a highly qualified Data Analyst to join our Finance Team. This position is an integral member of the Dean’s Office business office. Examples of duties: Gathering data and perform analyses to assist in College decision making, assisting in detailed personnel planning, providing budget pro-forma reports to management, recommending enhancements in policies and procedures, and projects involving identifying patterns and trends, and designing predictive modeling. This position will serve as a resource for financial matters to other members of the Finance Team as well as others throughout the Dean’s Office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Business Intelligence:

  • Utilize multiple enterprise administrative systems (Financial, Budget & Planning, HR, Student) to gather, analyze, and reconcile data. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data
  • Assist in building dashboards and reports for Eller data users
  • Assist in compiling data for AACSB accreditation and US News ranking surveys
  • Communicate with appropriate staff and stakeholders in analysis, compilation, and interpretation of student enrollment data

Budget and Financial Modeling:

  • Assist with annual all-funds multi-year planning by using Axiom.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial modeling reports and cost analysis for College and Departments

Financial Transactions:

  • Process certain intra-college financial transactions in the university budget and/or financial system

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • One year of related budgeting, accounting, or financial analysis experience; or equivalent experience
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with managing large data sets
  • Work experience in applying accounting principles and practices
  • Experience using University of Arizona budgetary, financial, personnel, student and analytics systems
  • Work experience communicating financial matters to individuals with widely varying financial knowledge and experience
  • Experience with Axiom planning system
  • Experience working in a university academic unit
