HIV Molecular Networks Project is an NIH-funded collaborative project between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Division of Public Health.
The Data Manager/Research Assistant will be expected to sit at the North Carolina Division of Public Health in Raleigh 2-3 days per week and will be responsible for creating, cleaning, and managing datasets.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
•Performing data management duties;
•Preparing weekly data extracts;
•Working closely with Division of Public Health Epidemiologists for data validation and review;
•Coordinating with Epidemiologists, laboratory, and study personnel;
•Designing and creating internal reports;
•Performing statistical analyses to monitor study progress;
•Performing additional training and duties, as needed;
•Participating in meetings and quality control activities.
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Must demonstrate strong oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be willing and able to travel between UNC campus and North Carolina Division of Public Health in Raleigh, NC.
Basic knowledge of HIV disease process and clinical terminology.
Experience in dealing with confidential information.
Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS/STATA/R.
Master’s degree in public health or health informatics, or one or more years related health experience.
Knowledge of R Markdown
