Primary Function of Organizational Unit :

The College of Business has been AACSB accredited for over 40 years and offers BS, MS, BSBA, MBA and MSA degrees to approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. Approximately 2000 additional students are completing the business minor. The College of Business includes departments of accounting, finance, marketing and supply chain, management, and management information systems as well as the Miller School of Entrepreneurship and the School of Hospitality Leadership. The College employs approximately 140 faculty members and 45 staff members.

Job Duties :

INTERNAL POSTING
The College of Business is seeking an Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development (ADR&FD) to begin July 1, 2021. The Associate Dean of Research & Faculty Development is an administrative officer of the College of Business, reports directly to the Dean, and serves as a third-ranked leader of the College. The ADR&FD works collaboratively with the Dean and is responsible to the Dean for seeking collaborative research opportunities from across the campus and region. This individual will monitor and encourage funded research projects and grants while also serving on appropriate College and University committees. The AD will represent the College of Business on REDE’s Associate Dean for Research Committee. The individual is an integral part of the leadership team and may act for the Dean in the Dean’s absence. The individual must have high integrity and ethical standards and be an articulate and enthusiastic spokesperson, and advocate for the College.

The ADR&FD must provide leadership and oversight of the College’s research efforts and externally focused professional research and services while also providing leadership and oversight of all faculty development processes such as promotion and tenure training, faculty recognition, faculty credentials, and mentor and advise faculty members.

The Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development must have a continuing record of scholarly achievement, and be capable of representing the College with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Doctoral degree in one of the disciplines within the College, a notable record in teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient for appointment as a full or associate professor and can be tenured in one of the departments or schools of the college. Proven leadership experience as well as demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty, staff, administration and other relevant stakeholders.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Three (3) years of administrative experience is preferred in addition to experience with research efforts and services, grants, faculty development processes, and prior business experience.
