Description
The Kraemer Family Library at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks an online learning and instruction librarian to help develop the Library’s online instructional capabilities and support existing on campus instruction and reference. The online learning and instruction librarian is part of a five-member team that leads the development and assessment of the Library’s instructional and research services. This non-tenure track position is at the rank of Instructor that has opportunity for promotion with multi-year contracts.

This position will help support and develop the library instruction program at UCCS through the application of information literacy standards, instructional technologies, pedagogies, and assessment.

Job Duties:

    Design, maintain, and assess online learning objects and modules (including videos, interactive tutorials, and online guides) in support of the information literacy program.Stay current with education and literature in online learning trends and maintain information on best practices to support colleagues in their online instruction.Collaborate with the Instructional and Research Services department in developing initiatives for providing online information literacy instruction.Provide face-to-face and online information literacy instruction in library workshops, the Gateway Program Seminar, the First Year Rhetoric and Writing Program, and assigned liaison department(s). This may include night and weekend classes.Provide service at the Research Assistance Desk approximately 6-12 hours per week, including occasional nights and weekends.Develop and maintain relationships with the Faculty Resource Center and Disability Services to help the library develop accessible learning objects.Serve as a liaison to academic divisions or departments, providing collection development, library instruction, and research assistance.Participate in the development and evaluation of policies, procedures, and goals for the Instructional and Research Services department and the Kraemer Family Library.Demonstrate a commitment to the academic or campus community through library, campus, CU System, or professional service activities.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer: 

Salary Range: Generally startingat $45,000 to $48,000 per academic year

Tentative Search Timeline:

    The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of May 10, 2021.The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor and appointing authority will be the week of May 24, 2021.The potential employee start date is July 1, 2021.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

    Master's Degree from ALA accredited school by position start date.3 months experience or 1 semester of coursework in reference and instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience of coursework that involved creating online learning objects that support information literacy instruction.Experience in an academic libraryExperience as an instructor or as a student with online course delivery.Strong commitment to student centered instruction and research assistance in both in-person and online formats.Experience with screen capture and video editing software.Experience with interactive tutorial creation tools (such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, etc)
Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
