Research Administrator Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22497439 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $55,000 - $108,500 Position Information Under the general direction of the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO), the Research Administrator provides high level administrative and technical support for the contract and grant submission process and post award fund administration for assigned Principle Investigators within the Office of Technology Partnerships (OTP) and other units under Research and Economic Development (RED). The incumbent will be responsible for supporting proposals and awards of diverse scope, will perform high-level budget/resource analyses and prepare monthly financial reports for principal investigators utilizing campus financial systems. The Research Administrator will provide support to the unit(s) by conducting monthly ledger reconciliations, processing financial transactions using UCR systems, proactively resolving issues, and providing post-award support for extramural fund sources for the unit. In addition, the incumbent will support with general OTP reporting needs and also assist with the time tracking and reporting for the EPIC Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Research Administrator will have a multi-faceted reporting structure, with primary direction from the CFAO and close coordination with the OTP Program Manager. Required 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required Experience using UCR financial and administrative systems. Preferred Experience processing financial transactions. Required

Minimum Requirements Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university environment.
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.
Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor's guidelines.
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
Ability to manage significant volume of transactions.
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques.
Thorough knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas.
