Director, Academic Preparation, Recruitment & Outreach Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22796163 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $61,600 - $91,400 Position Information The Academic Preparation, Recruitment & Outreach Director will plan, implement and assess outreach and recruitment programs and efforts to increase the enrollment of underrepresented students into UCR graduate programs, especially into the Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The Director will provide leadership and strategic direction for academic preparation and recruitment activities including summer programs such as MSRIP and UC Leads. Work with local institutions including CalState partners and sister campuses to do informational sessions – including faculty and current grad students to give sense of community and activities that take place at UCR. Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with professional staff on campus as well as and other institutions of higher education is a key responsibility. Additionally, The Academic Preparation, Recruitment & Outreach Director will collaborate with GradSuccess to assist in providing administrative and logistical support for programming activities and sponsored events. This position may require traveling up to 25% of the time.Budgeted Hiring range for this position is $61,600-$76,500. Experience Experience Requirement 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Minimum Requirements Advanced knowledge in theoretical concepts of adult learning. Knowledge on methodologies to enhance student success.
Skills in judgment and decision-making.
Advanced knowledge of specific learning styles, linguistic issues. Knowledge of how learning skills issues apply to a research institution.
May require knowledge of NCAA policies, rules, and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of a broad academic discipline or learning needs of a broad student category.
Multicultural competencies; knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Interpersonal skills.
Supervisory skills to hire, train, and provide coaching and guidance to student workers and student interns.
Knowledge in designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models.
Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting.
Advanced knowledge on research and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific, student-population specific).
Knowledge of academic curricula.
