Cash Accountant Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22896154 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $55,000 - $108,500 Position Information Under the general direction of the Treasury/Banking Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of banking functions within the established control parameters, including complex accounts reconciliations, control total validations, wire transfers, and federal loan cash draws. The position is responsible for the prompt and accurate posting of transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal requirements and UC policy. The position must stay current on banking requirements, industry standards and fraud controls. Please note that a skill assessment will be required as part of the selection process. The budgeted hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $81,800 annually. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Experience Experience Requirement Banking related experience. Preferred 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required Demonstrated experience with effectively organizing large quantities of data. Preferred Demonstrated experience with UCR's Financial System (UCRFS) and/or PeopleSoft. Preferred Fund Accounting experience. Preferred
Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Fiscal year end closing may require some extended work hours in June and July, and vacations normally are not approved in July. Required
Minimum Requirements Thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments.
Skill reconciling complex balance sheet accounts and researching/resolving discrepancies.
Ability to independently gather, organize and perform accounting related analysis to complete work assignments.
Thorough knowledge of common desktop/web applications.
Keen eye for detail to ensure correct coding of data and to discern data anomalies.
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse University community.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and complete multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
Knowledge of effective cash accountability and management practices and demonstrated experience with cash management programs and internal controls.
Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting and regulatory compliance requirements.
Skill providing superior customer service and maintaining equanimity when conflict arises.
Skill to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
Thorough knowledge of analytical procedures used in accounting projects of moderate to semi-complex scope.
Ability to exchange ideas, information, and opinions with other to reach solutions.
Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of UC policy and procedures.

Demonstrated and successful skill in reconciling bank statements for a large organization.

Knowledge and experience with banking applications and credit card processes including ability to identify and assess areas of risk.
