●Initiative in improving efficiency and efficacy of administrative processes.
●Knowledge of University/Academic policies and procedures.
●Knowledge and experience in communication/graphic design.
●Minimum of two years professional administrative experience.
Provide administrative support to the Graduate Co-Advisors of the low residency MFA Communication Design program.
Provide support for MFA students.
Promote and market the MFA program to gain a high quality, diverse student population.
Provide administrative and clerical support to School Director and faculty in the School of Art and Design.
●Assist Graduate Co-Advisors.
●Assist Art + Design administrative staff.
●Type and proofread correspondence, meeting minutes, and forms.
●Answer, screen and transfer calls, take messages and refer to other offices as appropriate.
●Open, date, and distribute incoming mail.
●Maintain faculty, staff, and student files.
●Manage purchasing, invoices, Accounts Payable, P-card, e-NPO’s, guest designer stipends, IDT, and monitor budgets for the MFA program.
●Process and review faculty, student, and guest travel requests and reimbursements.
●Maintain MFA Calendar.
●Maintain the MFA Handbook.
●Manage MFA Canvas sites.
●Maintain MFA records, equipment, and supplies.
●Supervise all aspects of MFA Studio.
●Develop and maintain relationships with other university offices.
●Assist with event planning for MFA and BFA programs, including the MFA residency program, orientation, lecture series, and other workshops and programming.
●Maintain the program’s digital content.
●Organize all admissions application materials with grad college, faculty, and students.
●Route forms and applications for review, approval, and submission.
●Perform other duties as assigned.
●Advise and support MFA students towards completion of their degrees.
●Manage communication with MFA students.
●Supervise registration, including the management of forms for the Professional Practice, Special Problems, and thesis courses.
●Organize mid-term reviews, thesis proposal submission, and thesis defense.
●Process degree audit petition and overrides for students.
●Answer emails and e-meet prospective students.
●Assist in scheduling MFA courses and MFA residency.
●Supervise all administrative aspects of hiring for Graduate Assistants including PCR’s.
●Assist in supervising Graduate Assistants.
●Market the program through the website and social media.
●Assist with recruitment and enrollment
●Facilitate campus tours for prospective students.
