Physical Requirements:

This position may requre sitting, standing, and/or walking for extented periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); pushing, lifting, standing, walking, or pulling objects up to 25 lbs.; and occassional (<10% of the time job-related travel.

Shift:

Primarily Days: Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm but can change according to the needs of UKHC and the department. May include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Patient Financial Services Manager will be responsible for directing the daily operations for the AR staff by providing workflow management, assessing organizational structure, processes, tools, and work productivity standards. This position will also work as a partner with the Retail Pharmacy Services department to assist with payer-related inquiries. The Manager will lead through appropriate coaching, training, and corrective action including termination. This position will serve as the next level of escalation for Pharmacy Patient Financial Services staff and other departmental contacts. The Manager will also manage staffing needs by interviewing and selecting best-fit candidates; complete time-keeping functions through Kronos. Must have strong financial forecasting skills with use of systems and tools, and be able to identify trends and report accordingly. Will create and present materials to senior executive leadership at UK Healthcare.

Attention to detail; well organized; exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), manage divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; understanding of resource and employee management; ability to engage and motivate others.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4 years of experience in healthcare and/or pharmacy billing and collections preferred. Ability to lead multiple projects at once. Very strong analytical skills, utilize Microsoft Office software.

In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
