Position Summary:

This position oversees the Terry College Business Office which is the central location for all revenue, expense and payroll activities for the College.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices pertaining to UGA policies, procedures, and college operations.
- Experience in management and supervision.
- High level of technical experience and aptitude especially with University systems and Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of university budget and accounting rules.
- Ability to develop and participate in strategic budget planning.
- Skill in process design & development.
- Strong leadership & communication skills.
- High commitment to Customer Service and continuous Improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage Centralized Business Office for Terry College:
•Plan, organize, evaluate, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Business Office Staff to include Financial Managers, Business Managers, Senior Accountants, and Accountants.
•Recruit, hire, train, and motivate staff.
•Conduct work load assessments and salary recommendations.
•Work closely with Department Heads, Directors and employees in 20+ academic departments and/or operating units to meet business function goals and objectives of College and University.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage Budgets and Accounts for the Terry College of Business:
•Review and monitor account activity for appropriateness, accuracy and report preparation.
•Troubleshoot between the UGA Accounting, Foundation, Sponsored Projects and Terry academic departments and operating units.
•Set up, monitor, balance and oversee the management of all college operating budgets.
•Prepare or delegate the preparation of budget amendments, etc. to maintain accounts.
•Help coordinate and lead information and training sessions for Terry employees.
•Coordinate with Terry OIT. UGA F&A, U GA OIR and others to maintain and improve reporting.
•Assist with pre-award Grant Budgeting and oversee post-award Grant Accounting.
•Strategize the timing, accounts, and usage of allocations.
•Coordinate with the Sr. Director of Finance & Administration and the Departments to best utilize funding.
•Update reports to reflect this process.
•Maintain budget reporting for current year and fiscal projections for following year for the Dean.
•Manage Budget Planning and Salary Setting process for the College.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage Revenue Generating Funds:
•Coordinate with the all applicable Terry Programs, including Executive Programs, MBA Programs, Double Dawgs Programs, and Business Office Staff to assess program fees, tuition differentials, application and seat deposits and continuing education fees.
•Maintain reporting to account for distribution and monitor spending. Provide reporting to Directors, Department Heads, Sr. Director and Dean.

Oversee all payroll activity:
•Coordinate and delegate hourly, monthly, and summer school payrolls.
•Prepare, delegate, oversee and report extra compensation, part time faculty offers, retire-rehires and Dual Appointment Agreements.
•Oversee and manage international hires for faculty and staff in corporation with UGA’s Office of International Education and the Terry College’s departments and units.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Process Improvement and Special Projects:
•Monitor and evaluate methods and procedures; recommend, develop and implement more effective and efficient workflow processing methods and procedures.
•Work closely with the office of the Senior Director for Finance and Administration on college needs and special projects.
•Manage special projects for the Terry College leadership on an as needed basis.
•Manage annual reporting requirement from UGA, AACSB, and other internal and external sources.
•Serve on UGA Committees and serve Terry and UGA in ad-hoc roles as appropriate.
•Perform other CBO (Chief Business Officer) functions.
