Department Information

The position is part of the Office of Information Technology's Digital Business team, and will focus on expanding usage of the Georgia Tech ServiceNow Platform in support of Institute business and service management needs.

Job Summary

Responsible for leveraging investments in various Rapid Application Development platforms, providing expertise in the configuration and customization of platforms, using industry best practices. Implement solutions using an agile development methodology to continuously deliver added value to the business. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Service Management staff, Technical Product Owners, Application Developers, Business Analysts, platform vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: management, peer developers, department stakeholders. This position will supervise: N/A


Job Duty 1 -

Analyze business requirements and develop technical solutions accordingly

Job Duty 2 -
Provide software configuration, customization, and automation using best practices including, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third-party software integrations in an agile development

Job Duty 3 -
Collaborate with internal UX Developers to ensure proposed and implemented solutions provide best-in-class user experience

Job Duty 4 -
Work with internal colleagues to design and implement integrations/data feeds/interfaces with other systems, including APIs, databases, monitoring tools, LDAP, etc.

Job Duty 5 -
Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products, including prompt and courteous resolution of development-related service requests and/or incidents; Audit work and review peer work to ensure successful, technically sound projects

Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with other developers to provide technical guidance and oversight where appropriate

Job Duty 7 -
Participate in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices

Job Duty 8 -
Deploy update sets to production environment following defined change control processes

Job Duty 9 -
Complete development and testing tasks related to new platform updates/releases

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience/Knowledge

Experience developing for any of the following platforms: ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Mulesoft Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines

At least 3-years of experience in ServiceNow administration and application development

Knowledge of ITIL v3 methodologies and processes

Preferred Certifications:

ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA)

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working directly with customers and stakeholders as needed Experience working with an Agile development methodology Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in one of the following languages: JavaScript, C#, Java, or similar. Experience creating connected experiences using APIs, Webhooks, integrations, etc. Experience with Web Development Technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SCSS/LESS, AngularJS, Bootstrap). Hands-on experience developing and maintaining integrations with external applications preferred Knowledge of technical components such as SOAP, REST, JSON, XML, SQL, JDBC, LDAP, VPN, SSL, and SSO Experience with workflow and workflow activity configuration Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees Ability to initiate knowledge sharing to develop colleagues Ability to develop effective implementation strategies, consistent with business needs and ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices
