The Counseling Center is accepting applications for 2 part-time Counselors/Social Workers with their first tier licensure working to accumulate hours for the clinical license. These positions work 19.5 hours per week. And are part of our Fellowship Training Program. These positions are not eligible for benefits.The positions provide counseling services of a remedial, preventive, and developmental nature through direct and indirect (consultation) contacts with students, faculty, and staff (individually and in groups).Level Scope:
The counseling / social work fellow will be fully integrated in our clinical team. These part-time positions are paid at an hourly rate and require 19.5 hours of work per week. Our part-time clinicians provide mental health assessment, individual therapy, crisis counseling, and group therapy to individuals and groups of the Boise State community. In addition to approximately 12 direct contact hours per week, part-time clinicians also will participate in weekly psychiatric rounds, staff meetings, group supervision, individual supervision, and have frequent opportunities to engage in outreach events.Essential Functions:
65% of the time the Position must:Direct Clinical Services:
- Provide direct service counseling (individual, multi-person, group, psychological evaluation) to Boise State students, faculty, staff and dependents within the scope of services offered by Counseling Services.Provide Crisis intervention and triage coverage/consultation to students and other members of the university community.
- Timely documentation of clinical servicesCollaborate with Health Services providers (Counseling, Medical and Wellness staff) and with the community to ensure that the client/patient receives comprehensive coordinated care. Participate in weekly psych rounds and staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned.Participate in weekly individual and group supervisionPotential to provide developmental and outreach program activities in the form of presentations, trainings, workshops, tabeling events, etc. that are helpful to the mental health of the university community, as needed.
5% Duties as AssignedKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Clinical/Counseling -knowledge, skills, and experience related to providing individual and group counseling; empathy, listening skills, problem solving, wide repertoire of intervention strategies, knowledge of ethical principles, strengths in personal and interpersonal dynamics, assessment skills, and diagnosis.Crisis management -maintain up-to-date skills related to high risk populations and community resources in mental health and crisis intervention techniques.
- Masters degree in Counseling or Social workLPC or LMSW license in the state of IdahoA commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. And an ability to work with diverse student, faculty and staff populations.
