The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a board certified/board eligible Developmental-Behavioral Pediatric specialist to join as a full-time faculty member to serve in the Division of General Pediatrics. Academic rank will commensurate with experience.

The position will provide care for the pediatric patient population by providing evaluation and treatment for behavioral health cases, while also supporting the pediatric behavioral health and wellness program that promotes wellness and addresses social, emotional, behavioral and developmental concerns in children and adolescents. The position will maintain and ensure that relevant patient records are properly updated, and share week day, weekend and holiday emergent/after-hours call coverage.

Clinical operations for the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University are managed at Augusta University Health, which includes a 478-bed state of the art medical center, a Critical Care Center housing a 13-county regional trauma center and a 154-bed children’s hospital. It also includes a Medical Office Building with more than 80 outpatient practice sites in one convenient setting. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia (CHOG) houses the region’s only Level IV NICU, and a comprehensive group of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists.

Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident teaching. Additionally, candidates should have an MD/DO degree and be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics. Educational responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at AU and develop a more in-depth educational experience for trainees; providing training to residents/medical students/staff at AU/AUMC through didactics.

Minimum Requirements

Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university. Board certified/board eligible in Develomental-Behabioral Pediatrics. Must have or eligible for a State of Georgia Medical License; DEA; PALS.


Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
