Senior Financial Aid Advisor

TCS Education System is currently seeking a Senior Financial Aid Advisor to join the Financial Aid department.

The Sr. Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for providing support to the Financial Aid (FA) team by primarily managing processes and reports necessary to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of awarded aid. Specifics of said support are further identified in the duties listed below. He/she must maintain knowledge and experience of the FA awarding and packaging process with continual student support to include written and verbal communication with students, staff and affiliates. The Sr. Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for providing support to both Financial Aid Advisors and Counselors with guidance, knowledge and experience. He/she is also responsible for providing updates and trends identified through reports and audits to the management team for review.

Principle Duties

  • Generate, manage and oversee completion of FA support reports
  • Conduct timely student leave of absence counseling
  • Manage textbook voucher redemption process for students with eligible aid packages
  • Complete and submit requested student documentation for verified outside agencies
  • Manage and coordinate with other departments on internal task assignments through campus records management system (CampusVue)
  • Complete and route student forms for signature through records management system (Perceptive Content)
  • Perform random weekly packaging, C-code and verification audits (identify trends)
  • Manage Cal Grant reporting and awarding process
  • Support Cost of Attendance (COA) audit
  • Provide experience and knowledgeable support to FA Advisors, Counselors and affiliates
  • Attend affiliate meetings as needed

Additional Duties

  • Perform assigned tasks associated with awarding and packaging students to include:
    • Counsel incoming and current students on FA resources and eligibility
    • Collect information and documentation to verify FA eligibility
    • Generate, deliver and process FA awards letters
    • Upload and link FA documents in student information system
    • Package FA for new and continuing students
    • Package student employee and XULA students
  • Provide FA phone queue support
  • Conduct FA student information presentations
  • Provide FA student support for affiliate events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Remain current on FA information by attending Financial Aid workshops/trainings

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • 3-4 years financial aid experience
  • Travel (10 –15%) and weekends as requested
