The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term clinical instructor. The successful candidate will join a team of psychiatrists and psychologists who are providing mental health support within the Taking Care of Our Own Program. This program serves to support the mental health needs and well-being services for UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine healthcare employees who represent a multitude of disciplines and present from across the various locations of our healthcare system. The physical location of the position will be in Chapel Hill, NC, with the majority of services currently delivered via telehealth modalities.
The primary clinical responsibility will include providing and assisting in the provision of treatment, recovery and support services (individual and possibly group at times), as well as for systematic monitoring of service delivery and timely adjustment of the treatment plan to meet changing client needs.
A second responsibility will be the provision of psychotherapy in the departments’ outpatient clinics. Areas of specific clinical interests for growth in the department include providers with experiences in marriage and family counseling, trauma therapies, as well as grief counseling.Educational Requirements:
Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work, and ideally will have a minimum of five years of clinical practice.Qualifications and Experience:
•Strong therapy skills with multiple modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy as well as trauma informed care
•Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment and with a multidisciplinary team
•Interest in working with health care employees
•Interest in working with well-being initiatives
•North Carolina Licensed at time of hire
