The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Western Carolina University is seeking applications for a 9-month fixed-term position in Mathematics at the rank of Instructor to begin in August 2021. Applications received by April 16, 2021 will receive full consideration, and screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.

The position requires a Master’s degree, including 18 semester hours of graduate coursework in mathematics, from an appropriately accredited institution. Evidence of excellent teaching and versatility in teaching lower division mathematics courses is preferred.

Duties include teaching 12 credit hours each semester in mathematics and/or statistics at the undergraduate level as well as departmental or institutional service. Delivery of these courses may be face-to-face, hybrid, or online, depending on the situation regarding the COVID-19 virus.
